Oft-overlooked, brainstorming lies at the center of creative problem-solving. After diving into the background of the driving question, students have likely gathered a lot of information, but have not yet transferred that new knowledge into a response or solution. It’s here that brainstorming can really transform the trajectory of a project. Encourage students to generate many ideas first, and then use the lens of the DQ and the project parameters to connect and prioritize ideas to develop further.
