Professional Development
Whether for specific training, or engagement with peers working on similar issues, the Consortium is the place to turn. We offer two specific kinds of Professional Development — Our Human-Centered Design training provides educators with a set of tools for engaging their stakeholders in problem-solving; and our Project-Based Learning (PBL) workshops provide a framework for understanding and implementing this powerful teaching methodology to engage students. Additionally, much of our other programming affords opportunities to earn Act 48 credits while networking with peers.
Small-Group Career Mentoring
The Consortium provides training and assistance for educators and employers who’d like to learn about or offer small-group career mentoring opportunities for students. Our small-group model makes career mentoring more accessible to schools, gives employers opportunities to showcase their companies and jobs, and is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education as a work-based learning experience.
Career Journeys
Students can use our Career Journeys video library to learn about jobs across 16 different career clusters. The videos feature working professionals, giving insights about the work they do, the training it requires, and tips for breaking into their fields and advancing.
