Educator in the Workforce

Published March 31, 2021 by Stephanie Sun

Educator in the Workforce (EIW) immerses educators in workplaces to learn about the region’s key industries and employers. It provides opportunities for employers to showcase their careers and the pathways that lead to them.

EIW is designed to expose teachers, counselors, and other educators to employment opportunities and the job market into which they’ll be sending students. Through it, educators learn what skills employers are seeking, and they see how the content they teach is applied in real-world situations.

Just as it helps educators, EIW also benefits businesses. Whether because of aging workforces; new, emerging industries; or simply a desire to showcase their job opportunities and requirements, many employers are seeking ways to connect to the next generation of workers.

Watch our website posts, social media, and newsletter for dates and times as we schedule these events. You are also welcome to contact our Director of Organizational Advancement, Jackie Foor, to learn more or to begin planning your own EIW event.
