PBL: Rose, Thorn, Bud

Published April 12, 2021 by Cynthia Closkey

Rose, Thorn, Bud may be the most versatile and accessible feedback method in one’s design toolbox. We have seen students as young first grade use R/T/B to reflect on their school experience. This method can be used to reflect on the positives (roses), negatives (thorns), and opportunities (buds) of nearly any product, service, or experience. Color-coded sticky notes help to visualize information, making for easier synthesis and analysis.
