At the Consortium, we believe that future readiness begins in elementary school. The skills necessary to navigate the world, get and keep a job, and have a meaningful life begin with students understanding their interests, strengths, and values, which evolve through experiences and exposure to a variety of educational and career opportunities. Through research of the literature and experience, the videos below articulate the why, what, and how what future readiness looks like for elementary students. The videos below are organized as: Where to Begin; Building Partnerships; and Elementary Future Readiness in the Classroom.
In addition to the video resources below, educators, employers, and postsecondary partners interested in exploring the possibilities of elementary future readiness can contact us for more information and design a custom contract based on your goals. Past projects include career exploration site visits, school-based activity development, technical support, and teacher professional development and coaching to incorporate elementary future readiness into existing curricula.
