The Consortium is offering Thriving Futures for school counselors this fall in response to feedback gathered at a preliminary meeting in March. Registrations for the program, which will focus on future readiness, must be made by Sept. 15, and the first of three in-person sessions takes place Oct. 24. Among possible topics on upcoming agendas are elementary future readiness, student plans, Social & Emotional Learning skills related to future readiness, and school-business partnerships.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & DATES:
- TEAMS Each district team must include one school counselor and one school administrator but may also include any other educators involved in addressing the specific challenge on which the team will focus.
- FOCUS Teams will identify at least one future ready challenge and create a plan for addressing it. Each meeting will include time for developing strategies to support the work, as well as updates and opportunities for feedback from other teams.
- COST $250 per person
- DATES Teams will meet in person at CPE three times, from 9 am until noon on October 24, January 30, and March 21
- LOCATION In-person meetings will take place at the Consortium’s office at 1100 Industry Road, McKeesport, PA 15132
To register, please have your district administrator complete this agreement form indicating your participation and the members of your district team by September 15, 2023. WEBINARS:
Through the Pennsylvania School Counselors Association, the Consortium also will be offering members four webinars during their “Chew on This” segments offered once a month. While not yet scheduled, the webinars will be at noon on Wednesdays. Act 48 credit will be available. PSCA membership is $60 per person annually with more information available on their website. Content from the webinars will focus on Elementary Future Readiness, Student Plans, SEL and Future Readiness, and Future Ready Partnerships.
