The Community College of Allegheny County’s new Vice President for Workforce Development has joined the Consortium’s Board.
Prior to her appointment, Debra Roach, Ph.D., had been a member of our Future Ready Partnerships Advisory Committee, on which she’ll continue to serve.
“With our focus on future readiness for students and our role as an intermediary between businesses and schools, Deb’s background in workforce development couldn’t be more relevant to our mission,” said Executive Director Mary Kay Babyak. “I’m sure we’ll benefit enormously from her insights.”
“I’ve enjoyed contributing to the Consortium,” said Dr. Roach. “What draws me to their work is their strong commitment to convening educational institutions with business and community partners, which allows them to help develop true and solid education-to-career pathways for students.”
Dr. Roach accepted her post at CCAC after serving for six years as Director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education at Penn State University where she oversaw programming in multiple southwestern Pennsylvania counties.
She also is involved with a wide array of community and workforce organizations.
