The school year is winding down, but like districts looking into next fall for Professional Development opportunities, we’re already booking them!
Throughout the 2021-2022 school year, the Consortium again will be offering trainings in Project-Based Learning (PBL), a teaching method recommended for increasing student engagement, and Human-Centered Design (HCD), an approach to problem-solving that focuses on empathy and engaging stakeholders.
Our trainings for the fall will be virtual. All are customized, taking into account district or school goals, the number of participants, and previous experience. Additionally, we provide supports for educators, including coaching and individual follow-up sessions as requested to assist implementation beyond our initial instruction.
Feedback on our trainings has been consistently positive. Following a recent session in Avonworth School District, for example, one educator responding to a survey said, “I have had experience with PBL, but not to the extent that was covered in this cohort. I now know infinitely more strategies when it comes to brainstorming, reflecting, and design.”
