Be a Middle School Mentor

Be a Middle School Mentor is a school-based mentoring program that pairs students with adult volunteers who can help them think about their futures, see the importance of doing well in school and give them a window into the world of jobs and careers.

In partnership with United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, the Consortium is helping extend this highly successful program to students in the Mon Valley, beginning with kids in Clairton, McKeesport Area and Woodland Hills school districts.

You can help by volunteering your time, or committing funds to help support volunteer recruitment, training and other program needs. To learn more, contact Gina Barrett at 412-678-9215, x-203 or gbarrett@tcfpe.org. Or, just fill out an application.

Mentoring can make a huge difference for kids. Because of it, some 85% of mentees in the program have at least a 90% school attendance rate. More need this help. The Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern Pennsylvania estimates more than a thousand kids in our region are waiting for mentors, so sign up today!
