It takes a community…

The Consortium has always believed that community connections—with business, higher education and others—open our schools to the world for which their students must prepare.  As an intermediary, we help schools develop the community partnerships they need to enrich student learning.

  • Among other ways, employers bring real-world perspective to educators through our Future Ready Alliance, and help create opportunities for students through our Student Powered Solutions program and The Future Is Mine (TFIM).
  • Through our College & Career Knowledge program, two-year colleges, four-year universities and trade apprenticeship programs help acquaint both students and educators with our region’s opportunities for post-secondary education and the expectations and changes kids face as they make the transition from high school.
  • Along with these collaborations, we also work with a wide range of community organizations to assess the needs of our schools, enrich the culture of learning in our region and create targeted opportunities, experiences and programming for our youth (including the Refugee Youth Employment Project and Be a Middle School Mentor) and educators.

Together, these businesses, post-secondary institutions and community organizations help create a more authentic learning environment for kids and educators in our region. We owe each of them our thanks and recognition. Collaborating with us on a variety of initiatives this year are:
