HALL OF FAME

Since 1987, the McKeesport High School Alumni & Friends Association has been working to rally support for today’s McKeesport Area students and their schools and to enhance the image of public education in the McKeesport Area School District.

The McKeesport High School Hall of Fame is just one activity of the association, which counts proud graduates and committed friends among its 1,500-plus members. The people inducted into the Hall of Fame are distinguished alumni of the district’s schools who have made outstanding contributions in their chosen fields. They serve as excellent role models for today’s students.

The association’s Steering Committee reviews all applications nominating candidates for the Hall of Fame. Guidelines stipulate that the candidate must have attended or graduated from a school in the district, and that a period of 10 years must have elapsed since his/her class was graduated.

Each candidate is considered on the basis of his/her contributions of achievements since graduation from high school.

Nominations are accepted on an ongoing basis. Nominees remain eligible for consideration for five years, after which their nominations must be updated. The Steering Committee announces its selections in July of each year, and the induction ceremony takes place on Alumni Recognition Night, scheduled to coincide with the high school’s annual Homecoming Weekend in September or October.
