DIRECTIONS TO THE CONSORTIUM

The Consortium for Public Education is located at 410 Ninth St. in downtown McKeesport (15132). Parking is available.

VIA THE PARKWAY EAST:
Take the Parkway East to the Ardmore Blvd./Forest Hills exit . Exit and continue into, through and out of Forest Hills, then on across the Westinghouse Bridge. You will be on Route 30 at this point.  Continue past the Great Valley Shopping Center (on left) and on into East McKeesport. You will come to a major intersection (2 sets of traffic lights) in East McKeesport. Turn right onto Route 148 (Eckard on the corner here) and continue into McKeesport (several miles). As you approach McKeesport, the road will widen to become Lysle Blvd. A cemetery and McKeesport Hospital will be to your left. Continue on Lysle, past the Eat ‘n Park (on right) until you see The Daily News building (on right). At The Daily News, turn left onto Walnut Street. Continue on Walnut, to the second traffic light (post office on right, Salvation Army on left). Turn left onto Ninth Street. And go up one block. Parking lot for the Consortium should be just ahead on the right.

VIA ROUTE 51:
Take Route 51 out of Pittsburgh to the Pleasant Hills Cloverleaf. Exit onto Lebanon Church Road (there are signs for McKeesport at this exit) and follow past the Century III Mall entrances and the County Airport. After you pass the County Airport, get in the right lane. You will come to a series of traffic lights. Go through and bear to the right, onto the two-lane continuation of Lebanon Church. This will bring you to the top of Dravosburg Hill (the Bettis Plant should be directly ahead) and another traffic light. Turn right and go down the hill and across the Dravosburg Bridge. At the end of the bridge, turn left and head into McKeesport. You will cross a second bridge, the Jerome Bridge, as you come into McKeesport. Get in the right lane. At the second light after the bridge (The Daily News will be to your left), turn right onto Walnut Street. Continue on Walnut, to the second traffic light (post office on right, Salvation Army on left). Turn left onto Ninth Street. And go up one block. Parking lot for the Consortium should be just ahead on the right.

FROM ROUTE 70:
Take Route 70 East to Route 51 north. Exit and follow Route 51 North toward Elizabeth Twp. You will pass Rostraver Airport and the intersection with Route 136.  After you pass the Route 136 turnoff, you will come to a traffic light at the Route 48 intersection. Turn right onto Route 48. Just after you turn onto Route 48, it curves to the left — don't turn right.  Follow Route 48 down the hill and then partway up the hill, to the intersection with Round Hill Road. Turn right onto Round Hill (you should see a cemetery on the left as your turn, and follow to Simpson Howell Road (1st left you can make).  Turn left onto Simpson Howell and follow to the stop sign, where Simpson Howell meets Route 48. Continue straight onto Route 48 and follow through Elizabeth Twp, across the Boston Bridge and on toward McKeesport. You will pass Olympia Shopping Center on the right in Versailles Borough. Continue on Route 48 (also known as Walnut Street) toward McKeesport . As you get closer to McKeesport, you will come to an intersection where the post office is on one corner and the Salvation Army on the other. Turn right at the traffic light here, onto Ninth St. Go about one block; parking lot for the Consortium should be just ahead on the right.


 

FROM OAKLAND VIA WILKINSBURG:
Take Fifth Ave. out of Oakland and past Shadyside, past the Arts Center, past the Ellis School, to the light at Penn Ave. Turn right at the light, onto Penn, and follow it all the way through Wilkinsburg to Ardmore Blvd. (just go straight, don’t turn and you will come out on Ardmore, below WTAE-TV). Follow Ardmore Blvd. through Forrest Hills, then on across the Westinghouse Bridge. You will be on Route 30 at this point.  Continue past the Great Valley Shopping Center (on left) and on into East McKeesport. You will come to a major intersection (2 sets of traffic lights) in East McKeesport. Turn right onto Route 148 (Eckard on the corner here) and continue into McKeesport (several miles). FROM OAKLAND VIA REGENT SQUARE:
Take Forbes Ave. out of Oakland and follow through Squirrel Hill business district, on past Frick Park (on right) to the light at S. Braddock Ave (church on left; park on right). Turn left at left and follow S. Braddock through Regent Square down the hill, under the Parkway east, up the hill past Edgewood Town Center (on left), under the railroad trestle and up the hill to the light. At the light, go straight and continue on toward the Rankin Bridge. Cross the bridge and turn left, following Kennywood Blvd. past  the park and Duquesne to the McK-Duq. Bridge. Turn right on the first ramp after you cross the bridge.  At the end of the ramp go straight, onto Lysle Blvd. (a four-lane roadway). Continue on Lysle, past the Eat ‘n Park (on right) until you see The Daily News building (on right). At The Daily News, turn left onto Walnut Street. Continue on Walnut, to the second traffic light (post office on right, Salvation Army on left). Turn left onto Ninth Street. And go up one block. Parking lot for the Consortium should be just ahead on the right.
