Who at The Consortium
for Public Education
Linda
L. Croushore, Ed.D. has been the executive director
of the Consortium since its
inception in 1987. She earned her undergraduate
degree at Grove City College and her master of
education and doctorate of education at the University
of Pittsburgh. She began her career as a teacher
in McKeesport Area School District and went on
to become an instructional leader, administrative
assistant and administrator. In 1985, she was tapped
by the Allegheny Conference on Community Development
to head an organization to support the public schools
in McKeesport Area. The result was the McKeesport Education
Fund, which was the forerunner of the Consortium.

Stephen G.
Seliy, associate executive director, came
to the Consortium from a
marketing
and communications company where he was President/CEO.
Mr. Seliy has been actively involved in both
economic and workforce development in the region.
He also has taught at several Pittsburgh area

Mary Kay Babyak joined the Consortium in January of 2007 as Director of Initiatives. Prior to joining the Consortium, she was co-director of the APEX Consortium, located at Duquesne University, where for the past 15 years she oversaw all aspects of that organization. She also worked for 12 years with the Council for Basic Education in Washington, D.C., directing the national program of Fellowships for Independent Study in the Humanities. She holds a degree in Individual and Family Studies from Penn State University and has pursued additional coursework in business, logic, and model development, among other subjects. mbabyak@tcfpe.org x210
Pamela Gaynor is Director of Communications for the Consortium. She has had broad exposure to the region’s nonprofit and business sectors and was Manager of Media Relations and Publications for the Jewish Healthcare Foundation (JHF) before coming to the Consortium. She was a business journalist for more than two decades and before joining JHF covered health care for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, earning national recognition for the newspaper during a period of tremendous upheaval for the region’s hospitals and insurers. Gaynor holds dual degrees from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications and College of Arts and Sciences and did graduate work at the University of Maryland. pgaynor@tcfpe.org x213
Patricia
E. Hoke joined the Consortium in October of 1988 as director of the Great Idea Grants initiative, a mini-grant program that has awarded over $1,000,000 to educators in 25 school districts in southwestern Pennsylvania. She also leads a number of special regional projects. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.
